Time for me!

I have been under a lot of stress here lately. I honestly can say this is the sickest year we have ever had. Isaiah has hand, foot, and mouth right now. He came down with it on Monday. I was thinking it was chicken pox at first, but then found out later it was the other. He has just been so whinny. It is driving me insane to the point I was a ball of nerves today and just wanted to cry. Brian got home from church and I took off to the bathroom and ran a hot tub of water and did a facial on me using mashed bananas with oatmeal and then did a clay mask with avocado and lavender. My face feels so smooth. I then scrubbed my feet and got all the dead skin off and used some tea tree oil lotion on them. They are now so smooth!! I feel like a new person. Well almost! I do feel better since the long soak in the tub and just taking some time out for ME!

Tomorrow is youth night and it does not look like I will be going. The kids are going to have a blast though. Hot dogs, smores, and fireworks!! Wish I could go... boo hoo! Oh well another time. Youth night has been going pretty good. The kids seem to have fun and are learning at least I hope so. It is a lot of work! They love to try and answer a question cause they get candy from a basket. I called Brian the "Easter Pastor" LOL

Not much else has been going on around here. We did not get to put out a garden, but we did get some tomato plants out. Speaking of which, I pulled the weeds out of the flower bed to make room for the tomatoes and I think I must of got into something well I know I did. I had a rash under my right arm and now it is getting better. I have been using hydrocortisone cream. It does not look like poison ivy at all.

Well enough said for tonight!

WOW

I can't believe it has been over 2 months since I have blogged. Ya know the saying times flies when you are having fun and not so much fun. Anyway I thought when the boys went to school I would have more "me" time but no. I am still so very busy. I guess with a 2 yr old there is never a dull moment.

Oh yea... Isaiah turned 2 on the 30th of May. He is talking up the storm and is just a cutie. He loves to play with cars now and has been playing with this noisy fire truck that he got for Christmas. Why do all toys have to be noisy? I mean, it is not like we mother's aren't crazy enough already!!

Zack and Logan are out of school and both got promoted on to the next grade. Zack will be in Jr. High and Logan will be in the 4th grade. They both did really well on their report cards and they both got several awards. I am so proud of both of them. When I see the word Jr. High it makes me feel so OLD!

We just started a youth night at church. Tonight was our first night and it went quite well. We had 13 children to show up. We all had a great time in the Lord. I think the BIG kids had as much fun as the little ones! LOL

I have my neice, Anna, with me tonight. I am unsure as to how many days she will be staying. I guess we will go on how the kids get a long. I am sure she will be on her best behavior... LOL.

Well not much else to say or tell. I will try and do better on my blogging techniques. Until next time!

on my way

I have not posted in sometime and there is a good reason I promise. I said reason, but actually there are several. First I really have NOTHING to say. Seems like my days intertwine with one another and well say blah, blah, blah. Secondly I have just been busy with Isaiah. He is growing so quickly and if he is going to be the last baby then I want to have my "baby" time!

I took the boy's to their dentist appointment last Thursday, Logan and Isaiah were cavity free, but Zack had a small cavity in one of his baby teeth at the top. This was Isaiah's first appointment so I took pictures. I will post them tomorrow. I am on the other computer which does not have my camera installed. On Monday I had to take Zack to an orthodontist appt. He needs braces... so they say, but there is no way I can afford 5,100. I think we are going to wait it out and see what happens. His teeth look a lot better then they did 2 yrs ago. I think he will be fine. Nothing new going on around here. Like I said same thing different day!

I did go to Pounds Away on Tuesday evening and started their program today. Yes they use diet pills, but I am using them as a TOOL to help me lose weight! They are safe with what medications I am on and I am monitored monthly by a doctor. Anyway you can check out www.phentermine.com and see the results some people have had. I would love to be under 200 by Christmas. I have not seen onederland in such a long time.

Well until next time!

I noticed I have not written in some time. I tell ya TIME is my hang up. There is just not enough TIME in a day! Oh well such is life. We have all been sick but I think the germ curse is finally leaving my household. It does not hurt my feelings one bit! I saw some Robin's in my yard last week and now my flowers that the boys' planted this past fall are up and blooming. I love SPRING! I feel alive and well! Brian has been working on his car the past few days. I think he finally got it all put back together again. It was the radiator and water pump. So now he has his car, but the bad thing is the baring is going out on my water pump to my blazer so now he will have to fix that as well. So I guess I will not have a vehicle again! Ugh! We are going to Waverly, Ohio tonight cause Brian has to preach. I am thinking of letting the boys' stay home tomorrow if we get home late. Otherwise they will have to go. My lower back has been really hurting today. I sure hope the ride and sitting all the time will not make it worse!

Monday, March 2, 2009

I know I may seem like a BIG cry baby when it comes to my weight, but I guess it is just a touchy subject with me. Something I want to get off so bad, but like someone told me earlier today if "we" honestly wanted to get the weight off "we" would be doing something about it. ~Like really trying~. First off I have to be honest and say yes I have tried but then quit. Okay so now it is time to pick myself up and dust off and get back on the diet ride and put some super glue on the seat of my britches this time!! I have been reading a book called Dieting clues for the clueless. Alot of the material really makes sense. I need all the clues I can get! Ha! Anyway I have tried different sites on the web to help make me accountable... to no avail I fail at that! So I made a blog for my weightloss @..... http://www.everydayhealth.com/profile/mommabear97

My code name is mommabear97. Not sure if my readers will need that or not.

Today was midterms for the boys. Zack got the same grades as he did on his report card which is fantastic and Logan brought up ALL of his grades he has mostly A's and B's and I think one C and one D. He is doing great!!! The baby made a big mess for me to clean up today. He decided to break 3 eggs in my kitchen floor. Hmm I know eggs are a great conditioner for your hair, but the floor?

Just got a call from Brian and he is going to be running late tonight. He is stopping off to see an elderly man at Thomas Hospital. So more time to be on the computer... not! Isaiah is wanting my attention.... have a good night!

Sunday, March 1, 2009

I had wrote a post yesterday which I ended up deleting. I am a railroad ride of emotions right now. Nothing seems to be going the way I want it. I seem to do things wrong all the time. No one seems to be pleased with anything I do or try to do. I have made my mistakes and my regrets... and there is not really anything I can do to change the past. Sometimes I wish I can turn back the clock and restart the day or the moment in which the mistake happened. It would be so nice to be Dorthy in the Wizard of Oz and the GREAT Oz would grant any request I have.... maybe the request of getting this weight off. I realize there are no magic pills out there, but trying and trying is not getting me anywhere either. Surgery is not the option for me either. One no money, two Brian would not allow it, three I personally do not want it. I just wish I was the size I was when I was in high school... or even when I first got married. In high school I weighed 120/125 and when I got married I weighed 150/155. I guess that is enough of my boo hooing....

The boys are doing good. Zack got 3rd place in the school's art contest and was 5th in a young readers writing a story. Logan is doing really well in school. He has been getting A's and B's on most things and some C's! I am so proud of him. Isaiah is growing like a weed, I had to buy him size 7 shoes today. He is talking a lot more and saying more words. A couple of my favorites are mama, cheese, mommy. get, no... amen!!!

Anyway not much else is going on around here. Good night!

Snow Snow GO away

and do me a favor don't come back on another day!!! I have cabin fever people and this is soooo not funny! Not sure if we are going to get that lovely white stuff or not. It is supposed to hit us sometime on Monday, but I am crossing every part of my body that I can cross that is goes around us!! The kids were off school this whole week. Neither of them are looking foward to tomorrow. Being off has made them a wee bit LAZY... oh I am sorry made them MORE LAZY!

Brian is doing a lot better with his back, but is still having problems with his legs. He gets fire pain shooting down his legs and then they go numb. We know it is a nerve problem, and there is nothing they can do for him except shots and we don't have the $$$ for that! I sure wish he could insurance!

Isaiah is going through a clingy stage. He has to be on my lap or up my behind so to speak. Everywhere I go, he goes. Hey it is sorta like that song "Me and my shadow"!! He is my little buddy though. Oh and he has to fall asleep in my arms every night. The little bugger sometimes will be asleep and I put him in his bed for him to wake back up and then I have to start all over again! He has fallen asleep while I held him and as soon as I put him in his bed, those eyes pop open. I mean he was dead asleep snoring! Oh my he has got mommyitis for sure!

I am doing fairly well with my eating. I joined Sparks People today and I am trying to get used to the forum. It is different than C2L. I am still with C2L but there has been some major drama going on and the owner does not know if she is going to keep it or not, so I wanted to find another site to get support incase Mandy closes C2L. It is a shame that people can not be nice! Over the last 6 months I have lost 10lbs. Yea I know at least I lost, but please how sad!! So I joined a challenge on C2L called Loving ME and it ends in 3 weeks. I set my goal to lose 5 lbs in 3 weeks. I think that is doable!

Well later tators!

I am here

Okay so sue me that I have not been around. Life is busy for me! Seems like there is never a dull moment. I only have so many hours in a day and those seem to go by way to quickly for me anymore.

I am still coughing a lot. It seems like that does not want to leave me. I guess it wants to be my friend. I don't need a friend like this one! LOL The kids are on the mend as well as Brian. Well Brian's back has been acting up. He was down for the past few days and today he did manage to go to work but not sure how he will make it back up the hill.

School was out today due to snow. They say we are going to be getting more of the white stuff over the next few days. I am not a happy camper! That means I am stuck in the house some more! I do hope the kids go to school tomorrow! Momma needs some time to herself!

As for my weight loss it seems like I am at a stand still. My scales are not budging. They go up then they go down then they go up....The past few days I have been very stressed and so I did eat more than normal. Anyway hopefuly I can get back to the dieting board!

Been sick sharing some pics and a cute video

I tell ya this year has been horrible for sickness. It seems we get rid of one thing to get something else. I wish it would GO away and NOT come again another day!!! I had promised some pictures on our New Years Eve . We had some good eats and then headed for bed. We had asked Brian's parents up but it is always no go with them. Oh well their loss!

I love taking pictures of Isaiah. He is just so adorable. Well all my boys are, no I am not prideful it is the TRUTH!! Logan took this one.

All my boys fortunately have been real good eaters. Isaiah is one of the best though. I think I could stick spinach (and I have) in front of him and he will eat it. We had spaghetti yesterday and he really got into his FOOD! He definately had to have a bath after this.

Not much has been going on around here since we all have been sick. Zack missed an entire week of school due to being sick. Logan brought his work home for him and he is still trying to get it all done. He has been sleeping alot! I am still not feeling my best. Taking care of the sick when you are sick yourself is quite hard! As I am writing this blog entry I am downloading a video I made of Isaiah. I tell ya it is taking forever to get it done!

So while I am waiting for the video to upload I will share another picture. I took this picture of my mom when they were up here for Zack's birthday. She has lost quite a bit of weight and mainly you can tell in her face and butt.

It sure has been cold! I have been having to carry buckets of water up to the animals. That is not even fun at all! And here Brian is wanting to get some more chickens and goats. Geesh! I love them but the winter time is NO fun trying to take care of them!! And I am sure the cold weather is here to stay for awhile! Cold is one thing but negative temps is another! Now I know why the birds go south! Maybe I too need to be a snowbird, FL here I come!
We have been having some car issues so Brian has been taking my Bravada which has left me stuck at home. I guess that is good considering I have no where in particular to go, unless shopping counts. The good Lord knows I don't need to be out spending money! Things are just so expensive these days! With my growing boys we sure do go through the groceries and I am sure it is NOT going to get any better!!!
Now for the long awaited video. "My Little Elvis" Watch until the end! It is just too cute not too!!

New Years EVE and I fell

On New Years Eve Brian wanted to have some finger foods. So I made a cheese ball, some pigs in a blanket, chips and dip, poppers, and punch. I have a picture but have not uploaded it yet. The boys shot of their guns that Bob and Terry got them. They thought that was something. On New Years Day we just hung around the house. I wanted to go out driving but did not. The boys worked outside with Brian on making our duck fence bigger. This Spring we are going to get some more ducks. We may get a few more goats too, not sure.

I fell down yesterday. I had went up to take care of the animals and I did fine the way I went up and should've came back down the same way but alas I wanted to get to the house quicker. Oh I got down there quicker alright... on my bum! I fell from the top clear to the bottom. Today I feel like I have been in a wreck. My middle back to my calf muscles are killing me. I can hardly move!

On a lighter note... last night for some reason I had gas. Okay too much info I know, but it is the truth. Well I let loose of a loud one and Isaiah is laying beside me as well as Brian and all of the sudden when the gas passes... Isaiah says Uh oh!!! I died laughing!!! Then he said ewww!!! Kids!!!

PICTURES!!!!

Yesterday I had posted that it had been awhile since I had updated. Anyway I have lots of pictures to share with you. So sit back, grab your favorite beverage, and ENJOY!!!!

These are of the first day of "real" school. The yellow monster came and swallowed them up around 7:20 and then spit them back out around 3:15. They were so talkative when they got hom. As you can see Isaiah was enjoying his time by himself reading a book!

These are pictures of Zack's Christmas program. The pics did not turn out very good. My camera does not focus very well at a distance.

Our first snow fall. Isaiah did not want much to do with it.

Zack's Birthday cake from DQ. He really loved it!!!

These are pictures of us with our gifts from family. Terry Lee got Logan a gun and Uncle Bob got Zack one. Oh my were they on cloud 9. Logan said this was the bestest Christmas ever!!! Benita had me and got me a beautiful snowman, some potpourri, and a candle with a plate. I love snowmen!!! And Uncle Bobby got Isaiah a bulldozer and he loves it! He played with it for hours!!! Christal got Brian's name and got him a very nice Devotional book. I have not got a picture of him with it just yet. He tends to hide when the camera comes out.

I do want to apologize for my gifts being late. I ordered from Lakeside Collection and had no idea they did not tell ya when something was on backorder. This WILL NOT happen next year. I will get stuff done in August instead of November!!! Grrr......

Wow it has been awhile

It has been almost an entire month since I have blogged. I guess you can say I have not really been in the "mood"! The boys' are liking school. I don't actually care for Zack's teacher, well I guess her first impression was not the greatest. Maybe things will get better. Logan's teacher seems like a sweetheart. He really likes her. Zack likes his as well, but she has hurt his feelings a few times. Momma does not like when one of her little ones are hurt.... I will come out fighting like a bear!

Christmas came and went. The kids got some really nice gifts! They always do!! I took some pictures and will get them uploaded at some point. I tell ya there are not enough hours in the day! It is hard to believe a New Year is approaching us. Good bye 2008 and hello 2009.

Not much else has been happening. The kids are off until Jan. 5th. Logan has been actually hollering to go back. Zack on the other hand does not want his break to end. He enjoys playing his DS too much!

Oh I will say this Zack's teacher sent him a card to thank him for the gifts he took her for Christmas, and sent a letter to me and Brian.... so maybe she is going to be nice afterall. Brian had this woman in 4th grade.

My big yet hard for me news

It has came to a point in my life that I have reached the end of my homeschooling days. I never thought this would happen. I wanted so much to school my children all the way through high school. Things just have not panned out the way I wanted this year. I won't go on and on about what has happened, but I believe this step is the best for me and my family.... at least for now. If the boys want schooled at home later in time then we may do that, but right now they will begin public school on Monday the 8 th. It is hard to actually do this. I have had some rude comments such as "It is about time you quit playing school" Now that one wounded deep. I was NOT playing school. We did school everyday just like "real" school kids. My kids earned their grades just like the next kid. But oh well! I do feel like a failure, hopefully in time those feelings will go away. The boys are excited yet scared. It kinda hurt to see the excitement.... I mean I really worked hard with them and did things for them. I took them to K-mart on Friday and let them pick out their backpacks and trappers along with other goodies (school supplies and such). I did buy them some new shoes (which they had some nice ones, just not new) and a pair of new pants and a shirt for their first day. They both have very nice clothes already cause I bought new clothes a few months ago. But the boys' said Mom, "Can you get us one "cool" outfit?" I am a sucker!!! I want the boys to look nice cause I know when I was a kid I was made fun of. I don't want that for them. Anyway that is my big news!!! I plan on making some homemade chocolate chip cookies and have them ready for them for when they get home from school. I will take some pics of them to share. Melanie is going to take me cause she knows I am going to be a mess.... crying all the way back home. I feel like I am sending my boys' to the lions den! Ugh! They will be riding #2301 bus, which Melanie thanks that is my dad's old friend Larry Harper's bus. I sure hope it is. At least I would know the driver!

So I guess the boys' will go to school for 2 weeks then be off for Christmas break then start back again. I got all their grades together along with all the rest of the paper work I needed. Melanie said 2nd 9 weeks ends at the end of January. I went a head and added up what grades I have right now so their teacher would have a Midterm report for them. Go Mom!!!

I also took the baby back tot he doc on Friday for another checkup on this rash. He gave him some medication so we shall see if that helps. I will say he slept all night!!! Yay!!!!

Remember our troops

If it is not one thing it is another. Isaiah is sick now with a cold. At one point he was sort of sounding like Darth Vador. I hope he does not get worse! I hate when the kids are sick. Brian was gone all day. He had to help his dad over at his uncle's house to fix some of the ceiling tiles then he had to go to a Sister's house from church who just lost her husband. Doug's funeral will be Saturday at 2 and the viewing is from 6-9 at our church. I am thinking about seeing if Annette will need any help with cleaning the church to get ready for this. And we may have a dinner downstairs on Saturday for the family. I think if each person brings a few dishes there would be plenty of food, plus we could get a meat and cheese tray as well. What a hard time especially with it being the Holiday's. It seems more people get depressed around this time of year. Brian's friend is an EMT and he told him you would not believe the people going to the hospital over depression around Christmas and the New Year. So sad!!! I suppose with the economy the way it is and not a lot of $$$$ people are even more depressed than normal. Not much else going on around here. Right now I am watching Isaiah get one morsel of cat food and bring it back and forth to the cat which is eating it up! He is growing like a weed. Earlier today he was stacking some containers I have in the kitchen then putting them back. He is learning!!!

Well the title is Remember our Troops this Holiday Season....

It's been awhile

Not much has been going on in the Haber household. I just have not felt like updating this journal. Time gets away from me it seems... even if we have not did a whole lot of anything. Thanksgiving has came and went and now Christmas is around the corner. Zack's birthday will be in 15 days. It is hard to believe he will be 11 yrs old. Where has my baby went? It is feeling more and more like winter. My body does not deal with the cold very well. I am like a grouchy momma bear wanting to hibernate. The old bones are aching!!! Well I have to get busy. I have things to do... don't we all?

Tuesday, November 18, 2008

Busy

I have been so busy around here! It seems like I have not had the time for anything. Well take that back I have been spending my time doing LAUNDRY! I did 5 loads yesterday and 2 loads today so far. And ya know what, I still can not see the bottom of my hamper yet!

Last week I was sick with a chest cold and the baby broke out from something unknown! Anyway he is real crabby. Now Zack has it on his face. We know his is from laying on a hay bale....so we are thinking that is what the baby's problem is cause he and I sat down in hay waiting on the guys one day!

The past few days school has been going really well. The boys are doing great! Now as soon as I brag on them... they'll make a liar out of me! LOL

We got our first snow fall last night of 2 inches but it has now melted off. I think snow is beautiful but my body disagrees. I hurt so bad in the winter! Old Arthur kills me!

Saturday

Wow it sure is a windy fall day. It is on the gloomy side as well. The leaves are just FALLING like crazy out of the trees. It is so sad to see the trees with no color and bare. I mean there are still some trees with leaves attached, but it is just dull. Kinda depressing!

I am still on the sick side of life. My asthma is kicking in and so I have been wheezing. I have been drinking some OJ to see if it will build up some forces against this evil sickness! Come on vitamin C!!! I took the baby to get his rash checked out on his leg. It is about a 5 x 5 patch. The poor guy has been itching and it looks so bad (raw and red). The doc thinks it is eczema. He prescribed him some Lorticaid and I am giving him a bath in aveno baby bath, and soaking him in some baking soda. Hopefully in a few days he will be on the mend. Zack has eczema on his elbows and his usually acts up in the Summer. Poor kids!

Where I have been sick I have not did much around here. Yesterday Brian got off early and well with that said he beat me home. He saw the house as it was and was quite upset. He asked what I had did all day and yada yada!!! Then he asked how come I did not do school. I tell ya, being mom, teacher, cleaner, doctor, and sick is hard! I won't go into the entire conversation, but when he goes on these rants it makes me feel so incompetent. Sometimes I feel like throwing my hands up and just say DO IT YOURSELF, I QUIT! But alas my job as a mother is an ongoing process and I can not quit! I guess he thinks I sit around all day and eat bon bon's! Now wouldn't that be a wonderful life! NOT!!!

Today I have been trying to get caught up on laundry but I think that is next to impossible. I have not seen the bottom of my hamper in so long I don't know what the bottom looks like. I quit using cloth diapers cause I just could not keep up with it all. Oh well such is life I suppose!

I guess I had better get off here and finish the house and do more laundry!

Thursday, November 6, 2008

This week I have been sick. Yesterday was the worst. Luckily Brian was off so I could sleep. I have asthma and when I get a cold it seems to go straight to my chest. Today I am feeling better. I tell ya, when momma is sick it is rough!

I re-added my diet page. I had deleted it, but then decided I would add it back. I change my mind so much! I am never satisfied with stuff. I like change! Sometimes that is good, and other times it is BAD!

Not much has been going on around here. The boys helped Brian do some tree clearing yesterday. I went out to watch for a bit, but then started to feel bad and so Isaiah and I headed for the house and went back to bed. I am so thankful he allowed me to sleep!

We did not get any school done today. Since I was feeling better, I had so much cleaning to do. That is the bad thing about being a mom and a teacher! Ha! Although there is learning in anything we do.

The weather the past few days has been awesome. We could use some rain, but I love the warmer weather. Cold weather makes me hurt!

Election Day

Well I am sick. I thought the cold bug had passed me up, but alas I caught it 2 weeks later. I am unsure if it is more than just a cold or not. I am chilling and my teeth actually hurt. I sure hope it is not he flu. Anyway I did go and vote. I was not going to vote, but the more I thought about it I had to do what I could to try and keep morals here in America. I guess you could say I voted for the less of the evils. There were things I did NOT like about both canidates. All though Obama had a lot more negative stuff about him than McCain. So with that said I am sure you can guess who I voted for. My mother had surgery on Monday and I have not been able to go and see her. She had a gastric bypass done. Don't ask me how I feel about it, that is one thing I don't want to even talk about. I am not against the surgery so much as I am to see my mother at 56 go through something so evasive with the physical problems she already has. Oh well too late for that I suppose. I guess some would think that I am being mean about it, but some don't know what we have went through with her. Well I am closing, hope you had a good day!

We have been sick

If winter brings on any more sickness I think I will scream. We had to miss the last co-op due to me being sick. I caught some bug while away in Amish Country. Then toward the end of the week Zack caught a terrible cold, and now Isaiah has a runny nose and cough. So we had to miss church yesterday. I did not get to go to my mom's for her early Thanksgiving dinner either. She had it early since she will be having her Gastric Bypass next week. I am none to happy about it, I worry because of her age and her health. What do I know? I sure hope no one else gets sick and it moves on out of my house!!! I have been trying to keep up with the house. I just can not seem to get ahead to save my neck! I think I am at the bottom of my hamper and then there is another load of clothes or I have all the dishes done before bed and wake up to a sink full of cups. I honestly think there must be these little people who live in my walls and just love to dirty stuff up! I would love to catch em'! It would be nice if they'd clean up after themselves. Whether little or big, a mess is a mess. A mother's job is never done!!!
